Here at Bennfield Surgery our aim is to provide a friendly, yet effective, family Doctor service and promote a healthy lifestyle for all of our patients.
Bennfield Surgery is located within a purpose-built medical practice and has full disabled access, including car park. It provides all the modern facilities you would expect for medical care in the 21st Century. In addition to the modern waiting rooms and consulting rooms, we are proud to have a clean and modern minor operations theatre for procedures we carry out within the surgery.
Car parking is available at the rear of the property via West Leys and Bennfield Road. The parking is for patients only, for the duration of their appointment. Parking is at your own risk and the surgery does not take any responsibility for vehicles in the car park.
Access to the surgery is fully compliant with the Disciplinary Discrimination Act. Staff on duty are available to assist at any time. A lift is also available to gain access to the 1st floor consulting rooms.
We have 5 partners in the practice; Dr Warburton, Dr Doherty, Dr Barnes, Dr Busby and Dr Williams.
In addition to this, we have 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant and many administrative staff who work behind the scenes.
The practice operates a ZERO tolerance policy on violence, or verbal or physical abuse, towards its staff members and such instances will result in prosecution, where it is deemed necessary.

Bennfield Surgery was opened on 14th June 2004 after moving from Warwick Street Surgery which was establised in 1988. Warwick Street Surgery was initially founded by Dr Bemand and Dr Griffiths, two nurses, three receptionists and one secretary. Since then the Surgery has not only changed name, but moved to new purpose-built premises in Corporation Street.
The Surgery has been very popular with patients, the list size has grown from an initial 4000 patients to over 7700 at present. Dr Bemand retired from General Practice in June 2006. The three remaining partners were Dr Robyn Crighton, Dr Carol Warburton and Dr Nick Doherty. In July 2006 we welcomed Dr Heather Barnes as a Partner. In January 2012 Dr Jane Cumming joined our team of doctors and more recently Dr Christopher Busby in 2018
Bennfield Surgery now has a full compliment of practitioners to enable us to provide modern family medicine for the 21st Century. Carlyn Dunster-Sigtermans is our Nurse Practitioner; she brings a wealth of experience to the Practice and prescribes independently. Three other Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant provide comprehensive nursing care. We have the services of a Counsellor who brings her care and expertise to our patients.
Behind the scenes we have a Management Team who are very approachable for patients and many Administrative Staff who maintain a helpful and friendly environment and are most efficient.
Our aim is to provide friendly and effective personal family health service and to promote a healthy lifestyle for all our patients.
We are always pleased to receive feedback from our patients and we constantly strive to keep our practice relevant to the changing needs of our patients and the ever-changing NHS.
