Our practice list is open for new patients within our practice area. Please contact reception for a registration form. This will be available on-line in due course.
We have an appointment reminder service which will send an appointment reminder via a text message to patients who have pre-booked appointments more than 24 hours in advance. We now need to record
up-to-date mobile phone numbers for patients to help us with this, so please check with the receptionist next time you come to the surgery that we have your correct contact details on our system. We
hope that this will help to reduce the number of missed appointments.
If we have your mobile telephone number and you receive text message reminders about your booked appointments, you can now cancel this appointment if necessary by texting back from the message you have received. This will help us to allow unwanted appointments to be redirected to other patients, and saves you having to telephone the surgery at busy times to cancel appointments.
Accessible Information Standard
All organisations that provide NHS or adult social care must follow the accessible information standard by law by 31st July 2016.
The aim of the accessible information standard is to make sure that people who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss get information that they can access and understand, and any communication support that they need.
As part of the accessible information standard, organisations that provide NHS or adult social care must do five things. They must:
•Ask people if they have any information or communication needs, and find out how to meet their needs.
•Record those needs clearly and in a set way.
•Highlight or flag the person’s file or notes so it is clear that they have information or communication needs and how to meet those needs
•Share information about people’s information and communication needs with other providers of NHS and adult social care, when they have consent or permission to do so.
•Take steps to ensure that people receive information which they can access and understand, and receive communication support if they need it.
If you need any of the information we send out to you in an alternative format (e.g. large print or easy read) or if you need help with communication with us (e.g. use British sign language or are hard of hearing) then please let us know to enable your records to be updated. You can telephone us on 01788 540 860
Our accessible information standard policy is available upon request.
Protected Learning Time
The Coventry & Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group is encouraging local practices to participate in training sessions (protected learning time). Currently these are being held on a monthly basis on Thursday afternoons. The local Out of Hours Service handles the practice calls during this time to look after our patients. If you do need advice or an appointment when the surgery is closed, then please dial the usual Out of Hours number of 111 and your call will be directed to them to help you. The practice closes at 12.30 pm on training afternoons and opens again the next morning at 8.30 am.
Our next PLT dates are as follows:
PLT will resume in September and dates will be posted closer to the time once confirmed.

Out-of-Hours Medical Care
If you need urgent medical advice when our practice is closed, a clinician is always available in the evening, nights, weekends, public holidays and on protected learning afternoons (staff training). Please telephone NHS Warwickshire Out of Hours Service (Care UK) on 111 and your call will be re-directed to the Out-of-Hours Service.
