Nurse Practitioner
Nurse Diane Spooner BSc(Hons), NP Dip, RGN
A Nurse Practitioner is a a registered nurse who is prepared, both academically and clinically, to provide a broad range of health care services, employing a "holistic" approach. Nurse Practitioner functions include performing diagnostic skills (history taking, physical assessment, ordering appropriate laboratory tests/procedures), therapeutic management (outlining care, providing prescriptions, coordinating consultations and referrals), and promoting health activities, all done in collaboration with the patient.
Nurse Di has particular skills in helping patients with Diabetes manage their disease and runs our Diabetic Clinics.
Nurse Di is very able to independently manage acute and chronic illnesses and writes prescriptions for all appropriate medications.

Nurse Adi is enthusiastic and charming. She compliments the other Nursing Staff in general nursing services and has a particular interest in respiratory and heart illnesses. Nurse Adi runs Asthma/COPD and Cardiac clinics.

Nurse Adi has recently gained her BSc (Hons) in Professional Practice (Emergency Care) and is now a qualified Non-Medical prescriber. She is therefore able to carry out consultations for minor illness and, if appropriate, prescribe medication.
Our nursing team also includes Nurse Bev Easton and Nurse Nicola Poole, both joined the practice in September and October 2011 respectively and both have become valued members of our team.
