The Doctors

Dr Robyn Crighton MB ChB, MRCGP, Dip Child Health, Dip Obst.

I was born in and come from New Zealand, were I attended medical school, registering in 1980.  Having worked for three years in a district hospital I left to live in England and registered in 1984.  I worked at St Cross Hospital for six months and then spent a year in paediatrics in Canterbury.
My main area of medical interest is with children, with whom I have worked extensively both here and in New Zealand.  However, my training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and my position as a female doctor brings me into contact with many women's probelms.
My outside interests include gardening and racquet sports.

Dr Carol Warburton  MB ChB, MRCGP

I was born in Aldershot, Hampshire in 1970 and completed medical school at Birmingham University in 1993.  Following hospital posts around the Midlands, I finished my training as a General Practitioner with a practice in Leamington Spa.
I joined the practice in 1988, on a part-time basis.  I am available in surgery for six clinics a week, the remainder of my time being spent looking after my two children.

Dr Nick Doherty  MB ChB, MRCGP, DFFP

Raised locally in Rugby, I qualified from Birmingham University in 1994.  My hospital posts were varied, and where possible in hill walking areas, as remote as the Outer Hebridies.  My GP training was in Oban, Scotland.  Following this, I took a Fellows' post at Glasgow University allowing me to practice half time as a GP, whilst performing research and teaching medical students for the other portion.
I joined the practice in 2000.  Within the practice, I have a particular interest in heart disease, and training, development and education. I have the dubious  "honour" of managing the IT system and helping to keep the systems and the staff up to date.  (Mr Bill Gates is not my friend)
I am married with two sons.  I enjoy hill walking, long distance walking, tandem cycling and I am a violinist with the Rugby Rococo Players.  I love everything Apple and all gadgets - I am officially a Geek.

Dr Heather Barnes  BM BS, MRCGP

I graduated from Nottingham University in 1997 and completed my General Practice Training in Leicestershire in 2003.  I subsequently spent 13 months in rural British Columbia.  Work in Canada was extremely varied, often requiring me to travel between sites by helicopter or ferry.
During the 15 months immediately prior to my appointment at Bennfield Surgery in July 2006, I worked at Loughborough Walk-in Centre.  Here I supported emergency nurse practitioners in the care of patients with both illnesses and injuries.
In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, walking and wildlife.
